About Dchenin Villaseñor

I founded my studio in 2014 to bring together my love of music and of teaching kids. Lessons are fun and encouraging, and they rest on serious classical training, so beginners feel comfortable trying something new and keep improving.

Mission & Values

My Mission

To help students become confident musicians through clear technique instruction and steady practice habits.

My Values

  • Patience & Kindness: I teach at each student’s level and recognize their progress.
  • Classical Craft: Posture, bow hold, accurate pitch, rhythm and tone, taught clearly and correctly.
  • Growth Mindset: Progress over perfection, with clear goals and gentle accountability.
  • Partnership with Families: Clear communication and practice plans that work for busy families.
  • Community & Character: Music builds focus, humility and courage, on stage and off.

Meet Dchenin (Founder & Instructor)

I’m a classically trained cellist with more than 20 years of performance experience and an M.S. in Early Childhood Education. My training in how children learn helps me introduce new skills at a manageable pace, and as a mom I know practice has to fit into busy family life.

Performance & Ensemble Highlights

  • Featured soloist with regional ensembles, including the Rogue Valley Chorale in Handel’s Messiah.
  • Played cello with the Jefferson Baroque Orchestra, performing baroque and orchestral repertoire.
  • Principal cellist in community ensembles.

More About Me

My performance experience includes a European tour with a baroque orchestra and work as principal cellist and soloist in many ensembles. In lessons, I use playful images children can remember, like giving the cello a “hug” for good posture.

In my studio, I encourage steady practice, celebrate students’ achievements and work to build a supportive community of young musicians.

How I Teach

  • Fundamentals from the first lesson: posture, bow movement, left-hand position and listening.
  • Individual lesson plans: students leave knowing what to practice and why.
  • Reading & musicianship: sight‑reading, rhythm and ear training are part of every lesson.
  • Low‑pressure performances: opportunities to share music and build confidence.
  • Options to fit your family: private, group, and online lessons for ages 5–18.
